What we hear the most

What are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash extensions are synthetic or fake eyelashes that are attached to natural lashes in order to add volume and length to them.

What is the difference between Classic and Volume Lashes?

Classic lashes are one extension applied to one natural lash. Russian Volume is the latest and most popular lash extension where multiple synthetic lash fans are created using special techniques and attached to the top lash.

How long will Eyelash Extensions last?

Eyelash extensions can last up to 6 to 8 weeks but to maintain the full look you need to book refills in 2-4 weeks. Lash extensions last an entire natural cycle and extensions will fall out with your natural lash attached to it. How long your extensions will last depends on how you care for them (not using oil-based products, washing and brushing lashes daily, not playing or pulling etc.).

How often do I need refills?

To maintain the full look you need to get lash touch-ups performed regularly. You may need them more or less often depending on how well you look after your extensions, your natural lash cycle and the style of your initial set. Typically, clients get refills every 2-4 weeks.

Lash Sheds

Natural lashes grow in cycles - the average is usually 9-12 weeks. This means that the amount of lashes you have week after week will vary depending on what stage of your lash cycle you are in. Some weeks your lashes will look fuller than others, and some weeks your retention will be better.

Every 9-12 weeks the client will experience a large loss of lashes and this is perfectly normal. However, when you wear eyelash extensions, this shed may be more noticeable because you may see a few more extensions falling out than usual. If you are new to wearing extensions you might be alarmed, however, do not be as this is just the natural pattern of eyelash growth cycles.

How long does an appointment take?

The Eyelash Extension application process will take approximately 60-90-120 minutes. Touch-up appointments can be from 60 to 90 minutes. The time it takes depends on the number of lashes applied. Applying eyelash extensions is a delicate process that requires patience and concentration from your lash tech. This is the time to relax in our comfortable beauty bed, feel free to have a lash nap!

Can I wear makeup with Eyelash Extensions?

Yes, you can. We recommend to wear eyeliner and eyeshadow only. There is no need to wear mascara if you have eyelash extensions, otherwise, your lashes can clump together and you can find that removing is not easy.

Please note! All eye makeup must be removed prior to the lash appointment by yourself. We do not take responsibility if you experience lash extension fallout due to makeup residue. Use only oil-free make-up remover.

We highly recommend using safe products with extensions, oil-free eyeliner and Lash Wash is available for purchase in our studio!

I have lost a few extensions in the last 24 hours, is this normal?

Yes, this is completely normal, the average person loses between 2-5 lashes per eye, per day, so this is not unusual.

Why have I lost a lot of lashes from one eye only?

This is always an obvious indication that the client sleeps on that side during the night, and this puts pressure on the bonds of the eyelash extensions and can cause them to fall off. Sadly, most clients are adamant that they sleep on their back all night and never move, but this really is not the case.

Can I pick the lash look I want?

Within reason, however, your therapist will always explain to you what your natural lashes can safely support. Therapists can only work off a platform of natural lashes; therefore they cannot create something out of nothing. Extensions can only enhance what lashes you have, they cannot create something out of nothing. If you desire an extreme strip lash effect, then extensions may not be for you.

Why has my therapist failed to lash all of my natural lashes?

Your therapist can only apply an extension of a suitable natural lash. When a lash is left, it means it is not suitable to hold an extension.

How do I know if I'm allergic to Eyelash Extensions?

If you have an allergic reaction to extensions, do not try to remove them yourself, as this could damage your eyes. Do not try to treat the reaction on your own. Doing so incorrectly may make the symptoms last much longer. Contact your lash technician to get your lashes professionally removed.

Any reasons why I shouldn't get eyelash extensions?

You should not get eyelash extensions if you have experienced any of the following concerns:

  • If you've had an allergic reaction to eyelash extension adhesive or other products used to apply eyelash extensions

  • If your eyes are extremely sensitive or prone to swelling, redness and watering

  • If you have an eye infection like conjunctivitis, blepharitis etc

  • If you've recently had cosmetic eye surgery, eyeliner tattoos, lash surgery or lash perm

  • If you can't keep your eyes still or completely closed for any reason
